Located in Placer County, California about 17 northeast of Sacramento, Roseville is part of the metropolitan area of Sacramento. Currently home to 112,343 residents, its population is expected to climb to over 133,000 by 2015. Roseville was first developed in the 1860s as a small freight and passenger railroad shipping point at the junction of the Central Pacific and California Central railroad lines.
